Paul Lamicela received his PhD in biblical theology from Southern Seminary under the supervision of Dr. Thomas R. Schreiner. He teaches biblical studies both at Sattler College and through his Biblical Storyline Academy (biblicalstoryline.org). He is passionate about helping people encounter the truth, goodness, and beauty of Scripture’s grand story.
Dr. Lamicela’s academic emphasis is in NT use of the OT, approaches to biblical hermeneutics, and the relationship between OT and NT more broadly. He is also interested in literary approaches to the Bible, and in the study of historical and cultural backgrounds.
Years of severe chronic illness in Paul’s family (his mother and younger sister) have made a significant impact on his life and thinking. It has forced him to wrestle with hard, real questions about suffering and God’s goodness. It has also led him to a special appreciation for the hope of the resurrection and new creation.
Paul is a very happy husband to Laura, and a member of Charity Christian Fellowship in Leola, PA. He and Laura love to travel and to cook and taste foods from around the world.
